Introducing our Barbell Ballerina Classes – a unique strength training programme designed specifically for dancers, taking your training beyond the studio. Created by our professional personal trainer and experienced ballet teacher, this course combines functional strength work with dance-specific conditioning to support the physical demands of a dancer’s body. Each session is carefully structured to help you build power, stability, and endurance, enhancing performance while reducing the risk of injury. Whether you're preparing for auditions, performances, or simply aiming to reach your next level, Barbell Ballerina is the perfect complement to your dance training—helping you meet the ever-evolving physical demands of the art form with confidence and strength. Age requirement policy: At Align and Define, within the Barbell Ballerina classes, the safety and well-being of our participants is our highest priority. Due to the physical demands of combining ballet and weight training, we have set a minimum age requirement of 13 years for all participants. This policy is based on the following considerations: Injury Prevention: The developing musculoskeletal system of younger children is more vulnerable to strain and overuse injuries. Physical Readiness: Proper technique, strength, and joint stability are essential to safely execute both dance and resistance-based movements. Program Intensity: The curriculum includes strength-focused training that is best suited for bodies that have entered early adolescence. We kindly ask that parents and guardians respect this age policy to ensure all students can train safely and effectively. If you have any questions about your child’s suitability for the program, we are happy to offer guidance or recommend age-appropriate alternatives.
